The Return of the Shaman

It occurred to me tonight, that the world was in need.  So, here I am.  Ready to take my proper place as an instrument of the gods.  As a guide, as a counselor, as a shaman.  I can get you to where you want to be.  Help you find the answers you seek.  In short,

I’m back.

Journals

For the past 5 or 6 years, I’ve been absolutely terrible about writing in my notebooks. I wrote here, and many other places, but I never really set ink to paper anymore.

This past year, on the other hand, things have changed. I’ve almost completed my 3rd 240 notebook! Here is a list of my 4 recent notebooks, the titles, and the dates which they contain. Just for shits and giggles.

November 9, 2010 – June 6, 2011
– Suicide for Beginners – Seven months to fill.

June 7, 2011 – September 4, 2011
– Existential Therapy – Taking only slightly less than three months to fill.

September 4, 2011 – Unknown(but soon)
– Rhapsody – One month in. Doubt it will contain another week or so before its full.

Unknown – Unknown
– This Wine – This will be my next notebook. I expect to be starting it by the second week of November at the latest.

Each notebook is the same brand and size. CR Gibson Markings 240 ruled pages, 8″ x 5″

So, I’ve updated a few things on Loki Listens today, and I’d like to take a moment to bring your attention to them.

Now, at the bottom of every post and page, you can find Sociable buttons! This makes it easy to share my posts with all your friends and neighbors through whatever social network you prefer(or all of them!).

I’ve also added a formspring widget in the right sidebar, so you can ask me anything directly from Loki Listens! Ask anything at all! I don’t care how ridiculous or inappropriate the question is, it’ll receive an answer. To go with this widget, there’s an RSS feed above it with previous questions and answers.

Lots of new stuff.

Wow, I had no idea how long it had been since I had posted an entry here. What can I say, sometimes life just catches up with you.

This is not to say that I stopped writing all together. I’ve made a lot of headway on my two big fiction projects, The Cost of Magic, and The Tribe of the Star. The Tribe of the Star has taken on a pleasant change of tone, which I think, and my girlfriend concurs, will be much more appealing to the reader. You’ll get to see the first of those pieces online here in the next couple of days.

I started out posting The Cost of Magic here at Loki Listens every time I added to it. I dropped that in favor of completing it and polishing it after 20 some-odd parts. It’s become a bit of an epic work for me, being the longest piece of fiction I have ever written. It’s still a long way from completion, but I have very high hopes for it. To be cliche, it’s a labor of love.

Due to some odd technical issues, I haven’t posted in almost a month. Now that everything seems to be working right again here at Loki Listens, expect regular posts to return.

My computer’s hard drive crashed on me, I’m updating through the use of an Ubuntu LiveCD. I’m going to attempt to replace the drive as soon as I can, hopefully remedying the problem.

I’m doing a study on Humanism for the next BI101. I’m hoping to provide a good work up of the ideology(or in this case, life stance) that is both comprehensive and easy to understand. Touching on key points, comparing to a couple of other ideologies, talking about famous Humanists, and hopefully getting a short interview with someone who practices this ideology presently.

So, I’m asking out to you, my readers, looking for that someone for the interview. Does anyone currently follow the life stance of Humanism? If you’d like to share some views on Humanism, from the inside or outside, please email me and we can discuss this further. It would be a tremendous help to me. Looking forward to hearing some of my audience members opinions and ideas.

Basic Ideology 101
Update and Request

As Summer draws to a close, many things are changing here at Loki Listens. I’ve decided not to post The Cost of Magic in segments, as I have been. Instead, you’ll only see the occasional snippet of story here and there. Basic Ideology 101 will still be a staple of this blog, but it is slowly evolving into something new and different, and (hopefully) better.

This cuts my content back quite a bit, so look for new types of articles to be surfacing. Perhaps more poetry or short fiction. maybe some other non-fiction subjects. We’ll see.. I’m not really sure yet, but I feel like there is a void here that needs to be filled.
